How To Raise Awareness This Mental Health Awareness Month!




It’s May, Mental Health Awareness Month. A month set aside to raise awareness for those living with mental and behavioral health issues and to help reduce the stigma so many experience. Here’s two ways that you can help raise awareness and break the stigma this Mental Health Awareness Month.


  • Talk With Everyone You Know!

Ask your friends, family, and classmates how they’re doing and really listen to what they have to say. Let them know that you are there for them and that you would love to support them!


  • Open Up About Your Own Experience!

A great way to help tie awareness is to open up about your own experience. Hearing another person is going through the same thing you are helps build a sense of community. Talking about your story can also help people develop an understanding of what you nd other people are going through.


So, what are you waiting for? There are many other ways that you can help raise awareness and reduce the stigma, but I thought that I’d share these two because these are what have worked best for me!
